Moving Forward Act On July 1st, the House of Representatives passed the Moving Forward Act to reauthorize funding for highways, transit, motor vehicle safety, research, hazardous materials, and rail programs of the Department of Transportation (DOT). National Defense Authorization Act On July 23rd, the Senate passed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 with a vote of 86-14. Democratic National Convention & Republican National Convention

This week, from August 17-20th, the Democratic National Convention will be held virtually, after originally being scheduled to take place in Milwaukee, WI. The party's prospective nominees are former Vice President, Joe Biden, and current California Senator, Kamala Harris. From August 24-27th, the Republican National Convention will take place in Charlotte, North Carolina. The convention will formally nominate President Trump and Vice President Pence for a second term. Read all the information Vote Smart has on President Trump here.
