It could be the only silver lining of Covid-19.
It is hard to bring about the political showcase of state staffs, balloons, bands and the crazed adoring throngs at national political conventions with the virus out and seeking new hosts.
Modern political conventions are the very mother of fake news, which is why for years reputable news organizations have balked at covering the political party’s versions of dancing with the stars as real news.
It is just hard to show the unbridled support of thousands when they are masked and standing apart.
But maybe not. Maybe they won’t be masked or standing apart. Maybe they’ll think the virus is fake or no longer around seeking fresh sponsors. It seems a lot has changed over the recent past with so many Americans no longer much interested in protecting their fellow Americans.
